Susan Garth began her professional cooking career in Saratoga Springs, NY, in 1993.   Today she works primarily with private clients, helping families and individuals eat healthier with her creative menus focused on nutrient-dense real foods.

She works one-on-one with select clients to bust through diet challenges and diet-related health concerns with a unique cooking and coaching approach, including an 8 week reset, personalized to each client’s unique needs.

She has been teaching cooking classes and private cooking lessons since 1995 and still has just as much fun with them today.

Susan attended the Kushi Institute in Becket MA, in 1995, where she honed her knife skills and studied the art of macrobiotics – creating balance in the body through connecting with the natural world around us. After close to 8 years eating a purely plant based vegan diet in her 20’s, she began to realize she needed to evolve her eating to include a more wide array of foods to support her body’s changing needs. Today, some days are plant based days, other days you’ll find animal foods on the table.

She has been a recipe contributor and moderator for numerous nutrition/health websites throughout the early 2000’s and created her own recipe website, candidacurerecipes.com, based on helping people make healthier food choices and helping minimize the effects and eventually overcoming candida yeast overgrowth, in 2006.

She received her certification in Metabolic Typing in 2007, and served as the first chapter leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation, capital region NY, beginning around that same time.

She’s eaten her way with friends and family through regions of Italy, France, Greece, Great Britain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, plus three different stints living in The Big Apple and a total of nine years calling Santa Barbara, CA home.

Her more recent professional cooking projects include working with the Four Seasons Natural Foods in Saratoga Springs NY during their expansion in 2014, owning and operating her own restaurant, DISH Bistro in Greenwich NY from 2010 – 2014 and launching the cafe at moomah, with Tracey Stewart, which opened its doors in TriBeCa, NYC, in May of 2008.
